the journey

I'd like to share some of the steps on this journey. I've always believed in the power of positive affirmations - phrases that we say to ourselves to build confidence and train our minds. For years, I've had positive affirmations like ‘I am confident’ all over my home and office….on sticky notes and I've written them on my bathroom mirror. This specific idea came to me on January 1st, 2011, while reading a book (on a road trip with my family...with my feet up on the dashboard...shoes off/socks on.) I was thinking about the fact that the best time to say positive affirmations is first thing in the morning and late at night, when the conscious filters aren't fully 'up' and the subconscious mind is most accessible. I thought, “What if I put positive affirmations on the toes of socks...then at least 2x a day, the person wearing them would see those words, and they'd be training their mind.” I also thought, “What if kids too young to read had ‘I am smart’ on their socks…what if that became one of the first phrases that they learned to say? How might that impact their entire life?” This picture is one of my initial drawings of possible designs. :)

I love these socks and the idea of sharing positive affirmations all day, every day. Is there any chance to have some that say “enjoy each moment – one step at a time”
