These socks were inspired by the book 'How Children Succeed' by Paul Tough. We learned about this book from Mr. Jeff Anger, the principal at Fairmount Elementary in Independence, Missouri. The book asks the question: Why do some children succeed while others fail? The author notes that the story we usually tell about childhood and success is the one about intelligence. He argues that the qualities that matter most have more to do with character: skills like perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, optimism, and self-control...Grit! The Pillar Life™/DreamTribe' notes to self® socks were inspired by and created for Sheri Salata and Nancy Hala, who are life-long sister friends of 29 years, Chief Visionaries of The Pillar Life, and co-hosts of their popular podcast, The Sheri + Nancy Show.

Between them, they’ve had one of the most high-powered careers in television (Sheri); married, divorced and raised two children while working with Fortune 500 companies (Nancy).
